Lindsay Lohan: Back To Work!

Well... sorta.

After gracing the cover of Playboy Magazine’s December issue, dimming starlet Lindsay Lohan was fortunate enough to snag another gig to follow, the face of Jag Jeans

According to E Online, photographer Yu Tsai, same photog who shot Lilo’s Playboy spread recently, shot the actress for the new Jag Jeans campaign.

Tsai says of Lilo’s work:
“Lindsay did not disappoint.”
A press release states
"As Jag Jeans' newest endorser, Lindsay embodies the strength and fearlessness of the woman of today. She is unafraid to be who she is. She is fierce yet exudes feminine grace.
Lindsay was so involved with the shoot that she would go as far as adjusting items on the set. She even requested scissors so she could personally fray the edges of her black crepe blouse because she believed it would look better that way. Lindsay would take a hands-on approach to her shots, as she was more than willing to change her hairstyle during mid-shoot and even used her own personal jewelry and accessories when needed.”
Well, good for you, boo! Keep it going this time.

Under Fire: Kardashian Brands Produced In Chinese Sweatshops With ‘Virtually Imprisoned’ Labor Conditions

Uh-oh! Sounds like the Kardashian klan’s eager-beaver antics are finally catching up with them.

The ladies, KourtneyKim and Khloe Kardashian, have been praised in the past for their savy business sense, having created the mega million dollar empire known as “Kardashian” all stemming from a simple E! reality show (which of course lead to spin-off after spin-off).

From clothing lines to create-your-own shoes via the web, the Kardashians have been putting their name on anything and everything and while it seems to be serving them well, the Kardashian empire is yet again under fire with new details of the girls’ brands being crafted in foreign sweatshops with slave-like conditions.

According to Radar, the Kardashian’s lines K-Dash by Kardashian, the Kris Jenner Kollection for QVC, and ShoeDazzle (founded by Kim) are under investigation by a prestigious human-rights watchdog organization.

Apparently the ladies have been endorsing and selling products produced in foreign sweatshops where employees, some as young as 16-years-old, are paid as little as $1 per hour and work up for 84 hours per week in “slave” like conditions.

Charles Kernaghan, executive director of the institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, says “the Kardashians are in bed with some pretty bad people.” He goes all to call the region of Kardashian product production a “scary place” and the peak summers “brutal” with temperatures reaching 100˚F with no air-conditioning to keep cool.

Radar Online reports
The sweatshop workers live in squalid factory-run dormitories filled with the stench of sewage while toiling up to 84 hours during seven-day work weeks to produce some of the goods that helped Kourtney, 32, Kim, 31, Khloé, 27, mom Kris, 56, and the rest of their family earn $65 million last year.
Just AWFUL!

A rep for the Kardashians has said in response of the allegations:
“This is the first we are hearing about it and take it very seriously as we would never condone this. We are presently investigating the situation.”
Well, someone needs to! While we don’t personally think the K-Klan knew of the production conditions in China, it’s probably time they start getting a liiiittle more involved with the more vital aspects of their brands. After all, any smart business man (or woman) would cover all angels of their bread and butter, don’t you think?

Fashionista Family: The Beckhams Are Picture Perfect For The Holidays

Aww! The globe-trotting Beckham clan landed in London over the weekend for the holidays.

Following family fashion suit, David and Victoria Beckham’s little ones Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and baby Harper were as fashionable as their always-stunning mummy and daddy.

Our favorite of all six Beckhams? Romeo’s digs! On point, kiddo! (assuming he dressed himself). Looks like the little guy may have gotten mummy’s fashion sense after all.

So cute!

Terry Richardson Gets Balls Out Naked With Male Models During Diesel Shoot

Fashion, News:
Mixing business with pleasure, ey Terry? (Guess we'd do the same with these
boys.)

Assuming Terry Richardson was on the job while at a Diesel Mexico underwear shoot yesterday, Terry and the models seem to have been doing a little more play than work. While the dashing Diesel boys flashed their branded briefs, Terry flashed a healthy patch of pubes while cupping his "goods."

According to Fashionista, there have been reports of Terry's 'inappropriate behavior' with past subjects on set where he had apparently whipped out the 'biggest dick' model Jamie Peck had ever seen.

Richardson has denied any past allegations saying that he's always 'considerate and respectful' of the people he photographs.

As much as we love Terry, we can see how his "openness" and lack of modesty can be offensive to some. We wouldn't mind though!

What do you think, inappropriate or just having fun?

Olsens Prevail: Mary-Kate & Ashley Grace Cover Of Vogue’s ‘Best Dressed’ Issue

They’re fashion’s biggest stars yet Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have never appeared on the cover of Vogue Magazine.

Well, their moment has finally come. The 25-year-old fashion moguls have landed their famous pouts on the the cover of Vogue Magazine’s ‘Best Dressed’ issue, on stands November 15th.

MK + Ash, voted Vogue’s Best Dressed, beat out other stylish siblings including Dakota and Elle Fanning (No. 2), Beyonce and Solange Knowles (No. 7), Kate and Pippa Middleton (No. 9) and Rooney and Kate Mara (No. 10).

Vogue Fashion News Director and Editor of the Best Dressed issue, Mark Holgate, says

"It's been a year of sisters, most famously with Catherine and Pippa Middleton.”

He calls the Olsen choice “kind of a no-brainer,” explaining simply:
"Are there any more chic, stylish, cool, and original sisters than Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen?”
That’s easy. Nope!
He continues:
"They (the Olsens) get it right a lot of the time and then sometimes they don't get it right. That's actually great because it shows that it's their hands reaching into their wardrobes.
They don't have someone telling them, 'This is cool, this is hot, this is what you should be wearing.' It comes from within them. It's instinctual.”
And that’s what we love about them. Their bold creativity and effortless individuality is subduing.

For more on the Best Dressed siblings, pick up Ms. V up on your local newsstand on the 15th.

Lady Like: Kristen Dunst Is Festive On The Streets Of NYC

Fashion, Sighting:
T Magazine calls the look seasonal bouquet. A coral coat looks bravely to winter, but bare legs say summer hasn’t been forgotten.

Actress Kristen Dunst walks the city streets in a Chloe coat and dress along with a very lady like Chanel bag.

Pale stems and all, we think Kristen’s bare leg exposure still works with this outfit.

Dressing Two Grooms For A Same-Sex Wedding

Fashion, Life:
(New York Times) -- On the evening of June 24, in Paris, men’s fashion writers sat down for the spring Givenchy show at the Pompidou Center. Chairs had been arranged in the street-level lobby, and by the time the show began — an arrow of scowling men in bird of paradise prints — an audience had formed outside the windows as well.

Splashed across the white T-shirts and suits, the jungle green spikes looked like torture instruments, though the sheer abundance of prints took some of the edge off. The editors seemed charged by what Riccardo Tisci had boiled down from a 10-cent surfer theme, and declared it one of the season’s best shows.

We mention all of this because that day a lot of us were following, on Twitter, the passage of the same-sex marriage bill in New York. Little else was discussed between the shows. The vote had huge meaning for the fashion community, both for individuals who wished to marry and the industry that stands to profit eventually from a change in attitudes.

Sarah Jessica Parker Introduces '100 Shoes'

Fashion, News:
(Huffington Post) -- Sarah Jessica Parker
presents The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's latest book by exclaiming:

"When I was asked to write the introduction to 100 Shoes, my reaction was 'Only 100?'"

Her astonishment is reasonable: the fabulous footwear in the new tome ranges from an pair of 16th century, silk Italian platforms to Christian Louboutin's strappy, studded platforms designed for Rodarte in 2008.

Parker's fictional alter ego Carrie Bradshaw would be pleased: her favorite designer, Manolo Blahnik, has several pairs of remarkable numbers included. Although the approval of the Sex and the City star has attributed to his popularity as a designer, Blahnik says of the heel-less "Bhutan" shoes featured in the book:
"This is the kind of work I love to do because it is free from commercial constraints. With shoes like these, I don't ever think of selling. They just satisfy the creative craving that I get."
This artistic impulse is why many of these experimental, wild and imaginative shoes are part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection, which includes over 2,500 pairs in total. This is nothing compared to the 35,000 costumes and accessories the Costume Institute has in total. "100 Dresses," the precursor to "100 Shoes" came out in November 2010, we're liking this trend! What should we expect next? Our fingers are crossed for the imminent release of, "100 Bags"

For a short, stylish history lesson and a preview of "100 Shoes," (including Yves Saint Laurent     feathered stilettos, ankle boots from the 1800's and more!) take a peek in our gallery below:

The Olsen's $39,000 The Row Alligator Backpack SOLD OUT!

Fashion, News:
Bag ladies: The high-profile twins are regularly spotted carrying the pricey accessory, most recently at Kanye West's Paris Fashion Week show
Trouble in paradise, girls?

Well, it's not exactly something we'd call "trouble" but believe it or not, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are having trouble keeping up with the supply and demand of their very in demand line, The Row. The lines new accessories collection has already sold out of it's alligator skin backpack that retails for a whopping $39,000!

So who the HELL is buying this backpack?!

Expensive as the must-have alligator skin Hermes Birkin bag, which can cost as much as $40,000, Ashley tells WWD:

"It was the first thing that sold off the shelf."

Ash also stated that it was often only the most high-end brands that were able to thrive during an economic crisis. She says:
"During our last economic crisis in the U.S., the only thing that went up was Hermes."
Barney's New York fashion director Amanda Brooks tells Fashionista.com
"I think if you were ever going to spend $39,000 on a bag, that's the bag you should buy because I think you'd wear it for a really long time.
There's enough design to make it interesting and beautiful but they truly are classic bags - and I think you also might be the only one who has it."
The high-end department store had pre-ordered two of the must-have backpacks before the collection even went on sale.

Well, the Olsens sure have come along way since their days of selling the Mary-Kate & Ashley brand at Target.

So, while the obsessive fashionistas sell their homes in order to purchase the must-have backpack, we're thinking something from Louis Vuitton will suit just fine.
Bestseller: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen cannot keep up with demand for the $39,000 alligator skin backpack from their label The Row

Dolce & Gabbana Announce The Final Closing of D&G

Fashion, News:
This morning (September 22nd), Dolce & Gabbana's younger line D&G announced that their last ever fashion show will take place at Milan Fashion Week 2012.

The brand has confirmed that it will close the D&G line from next season and merge it with it's main line, Dolce & Gabbana.

D&G masterminds, Domencio Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, said in a statement that the move was in order to give "even more strength and energy to our collections."

Welp, so it's official. The brands last hoorah will take place at Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012.

Although sad, we're very excited to see what the brand presents for the last of it all. And of course, what the new time and focus will develop for the pairs main squeeze, Dolce & Gabbana.

Make us proud, boys.

See more... Fashion
