Whitney Houston Dead

Singers rep confirms death reports. 

On the eve of the Grammys, singing legend and six-time Grammy winner Whitney Houston has been pronounced dead tonight. She was 48 years old.

The singer, who publicly struggled drug addiction for years past, was found dead at 3:55pm today in a Beverly Hilton Hotel room where she was slated to attend a pre-Grammy party tonight held by music giant and dear friend Clive Davis. 

Her cause of death has yet to be revealed. Whitney is survived by her 17 year old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown. 

The music superstar was one of the world’s best-selling music artists, winning 2 Emmys, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 AMAs, 6 Grammys, and the list goes on. 

Sad, sad, sad! We are completely devastated by the news!

Demi Moore Hospitalized For Reported Substance Abuse, Drops Out Of 'Lovelace'

We were afraid of this... 

Demi Moore, following her hospitalization Tuesday night, has dropped out of the film Lovelace.

Moore is officially seeking professional help for exhaustion but is rumored to have a substance abuse problem. TMZ reports that the actress will no longer feature in the biopic of former porn star Linda Lovelace; Moore was set to play a small role as feminist activist Gloria Steinem, who took a very public stance against pornography.

Amanda Seyfried will star as Lovelace and Peter Sarsgaard as Lovelace's ex-husband and porn production manager Chuck Traynor. James Franco will play Hugh Hefner in a small role, while Hank Azaria in December signed on to play Jerry Damiano, the director of Deep Throat.

Last seen in the ensemble financial drama Margin Call and the Sam Levinson-directed drama Another Happy Day, Moore will next be seen alongside Miley Cyrus in the comedy "LOL.”

Does Marc Jacobs Have A New Boyfriend?

It was just a couple days ago that Marc Jacobs was frolicking on a St. Barts beach with ex-fiance Lorenzo Martone. The two spent the day splashing and flirting with one other, appearing very back-on again. But now a Brazilian gossip site is reporting that Jacobs may actually have a new man in his life - porn star Harry Louis (pictured above, right).

While Marc and Lorenzo called off their relationship in the summer of 2010, the two had appeared as chummy as ever while in St. Barts, leaving us to think they were possibly working things out.

Jacobs recently told Vogue Magazine of his relationship with Martone: 

“Yeah, we’re best friends. We speak to each other, I don’t know, six times a day.” 

Okay, so IF Harry actually is Marc’s bf, I don’t know that we'd be so cool with this “best friend/ ex-fiance/ butt beach buddy” situation going on with Lorenzo though... Just sayin.

Meryl Streep Talks About Opening New Women’s History Museum

Inspired by her close grandmother, who was alive prior to the passing of the 19th amendment, Meryl Streep is leading efforts in a $400 million women’s history museum project in Washington D.C.

Thanks to Meryl Streep, The National Women’s History Museum will share history herstory of ladies from the past. A past that would not allow women to vote, let alone have a voice.

She explains: 

"History until the 20th century was written by one member of the human family and it wasn't the mother. It was dad. That's who wrote history and ... what was important? Movements of armies, sovereignty of nations, all sorts of things. But women were there all along and they have incredible stories that we don't know anything about."

Interesting. Now we’re intrigued... 

Meryl, who plays Margret Thatcher in the upcoming film The Iron Lady, donated $1 million to the project and gladly serves as it’s public face. 

While the museum’s plans must still be approved by congress, a bill allowing construction of the project has been passed by the House and Senate.

Can’t wait to see how it comes together. 

Top 5... Life Lessons We Learned In 2011

We’ve had a long, crazy year filled with ups and plenty of downs, and after all of the brand new trials and tribulations of 2011, I’m finally starting to see what they mean what saying “everything happens for a reason.” 

Of all the difficult trials and tribulations we experienced this past year, we’re proud to reflect and feel stronger, more mature, and a bit wiser.

The 2nd Anniversary Of Brittany Murphy’s Death Comes With More Mold Drama

It's the two-year anniversary of the death of actress Brittany Murphy and while it's now a tradition for us to honor the actresses life here on SchubertSays.com, we actually have an UPDATE on the passing of the late screen siren. 

The actress, who's sudden December 20, 2009 death was ruled the result of a combination of pneumonia, anemia and prescription drug intoxication, may actually be the result of toxic mold in the home of Murphy and her husband, Simon Monjack, who passed away shortly after her in the same Hollywood Hills home. 

Now, new reports claim that the actresses mother, Sharon Murphy, is blaming the death of her late daughter and son-in-law to toxic mold found in the couples home and she's going after her own defense lawyers for this one. 

According to TMZ, Sharon claims that the people who built the house are to blame for the mold that caused their condition but will now be unable to seek justice via lawsuit against the builders. A new lawsuit filed by Sharon alleges she was duped by her own lawyers into giving up her rights to sue the builders for wrongful death.

Apparently Sharon accepted a settlement offer - as advised by her lawyers - for the construction defects back in January. The part Sharon wasn't advised on... that she would never be able to go after the builders for their alleged role in Brittany's 2009 death (if toxic mold or any other defect turned out to be the cause).

Sharon has now hired Michael Marzban to sue her former lawyers for legal malpractice.

Man, oh man, sounds as though Sharon may have a long road ahead of her on this one.

Artist Tom Bridgegroom Lives On With Release Of Posthumous Holiday Track

It's been 7 months since the sudden, devastating death of rising Hollywood talent Tom Bridegroom. Now, a posthumous holiday track by the young artist – along with singer Coleen McMahon – has been released in his memory. 

Bridegroom, a promising, bright-eyed talent in entertainement, tragically fell to his death on May 7th, aged 29, while shooting a model on the roof of a four story building in Los Angeles. Now, memory of the actor, singer, writer, host and agent, continues to live through the lives of all that knew him with a newly released rendition of "The Christmas Song," by Bridegroom and McMahon.

The beautiful, heartfelt Christmas anthem is a warm reminder of what this time of year is really about: appreciating life and loved ones.

Through his family, life partner Shane Bitney Crone, and the souls who loved him, Tom's legacy continues to live.

It looks like the rumors are true: Ryan Gosling is taken. The actor, who was robbed of the 

Sexiest Man Alive title recently, was spotted in Paris with the lovely Eva Mendes today and they definitely acted like more than friends and co-stars.

The stars held hands, cuddled, and generally did all the things new couples do while visiting the Pere Lachaise Cemetary in Paris. Romantic, huh? Mendes is filming a new movie in the City of Light, and her man flew in to spend some time with her.

These two were first rumored to be dating a few months ago, when Gosling took his The Place Beyond the Pines co-star to Disneyland, the place he most likes to woo the ladies. They were then spotted together on numerous occasions, but only a few pictures of their outings surfaced. This time, there are over 30 pieces of photo evidence HERE!

Miley Cyrus: ‘I’m A Stoner’

Miley a pot head? Ya don’t say...

According to People.com, actress-singer Miley Cyrus is a self-procliamed “stoner.” 

Miley celebrated her 19th birthday on November 23rd at Beacher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. In a video from the private soiree - which was hosted by pal Kelly Osbourne - Ms. Miley admits to how much she loves to smoke the ganja. 

She said at the bash during her Bob Marley birthday cake acceptance speech: 

"You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a ‘Bob Miley’ [birthday] cake."  

"You know you smoke way too much fucking weed.”

WE-EED say that’s a pretty good way to tell too, Miles.

On top of confessing her love for marijuana, Cyrus gushes on how ‘amazing' her Bob Marley birthday cake was. 

Shortly after the bday speech, Osbourne tweeted:

“let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE! the cake was also A JOKE!  

it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called ‘friends’ would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!”

After all that defense on Cyrus’ behalf, Kelly went on with more points on how Miley couldn’t possibly do all she does (recording, filming, touring) “if she was a stoner.” 

Welp, Kelz, that’s not entirely true. Not everyone suffers the same set-backs and side effects to marijuana as others. And Miles - if you wanna toke, toke. You’re a grown ass woman, just don’t be so quick to air your dirty laundry even if the attempt is to “keep it real.” Some things are better left private. ;)

Hi lovers! 

We’re taking some much-needed time off for the holiday and wanted to wish all of our American readers (and all who celebrate) a very Happy Thanksgiving! 

Between a more-than-full-time, demanding PR schedule and attempting to keep up with all you savy folks here on Schubert Says, it will be nice to put the laptop away, lose the Blackberry, and actually relax and breathe for a couple days. Of course as soon as it’s all over, we’ll be right back to it all over again. 

Ooh, life, how we love thee.

Prince Harry Pops His Sin City Cherry With First Visit To Las Vegas

Life, Sighting: 

Making the most of military training in the U.S., the world’s most eligible Royal bachelor, Prince Harry, arrived at Wynn Las Vegas’s Tryst Nightclub at midnight on Friday (November 18th), taking up quarters at a corner VIP table away from the club’s main dance floor.

According to People, Harry went largely unnoticed as he bounced about the Friday night Sin City hot spot and didn’t seem too concerned about onlookers. 

Letting loose in true Vegas fashion, the 27-year-old hunk Prince hopped on the lap of a member of his security team leaving the rest of his entourage falling to the ground in hysteria. 

Sounds like our kind of boy! 

The Prince sipped Grey Goose and tonic cocktails and wrapped it up around 3am. 

Live it up, boy.

Benetton Ad Withdrawn Same Day As Release

(Vatican City) — The Benetton clothing company withdrew an ad Wednesday featuring a fake photo of Pope Benedict XVI kissing a top Egyptian imam on the lips after the Vatican denounced it as an unacceptable provocation.

Benetton had said its "Unhate" campaign launched Wednesday was aimed at fostering tolerance and "global love."

The campaign's fake photos feature a half-dozen purported political nemeses in lip-locked embraces, including President Barack Obama and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il and South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.

The known-fan pleaser of course took part in the photo opp but it doesn't appear that everyone was on board with this arrangement... Baby Loissa espcially.

Although the pout-perfect trio did break pose to amuse baby Harper, David’s fierce-faced cheerleaders stayed pretty glued to the game.

Sandra Bullock’s Agents Buy $14K Andy Warhol Painting For Baby Louis

If you were going to purchase a $14,000 Andy Warhol original, you think you’d be holding on to it for dear life. Well, not Sandra Bullock’s agents Kevin Huvane and Bryan Lourd. 

During last week's amFAR Inspiration Gala at LA’s Chateau Marmont, Sandy’s gracious handlers were the highest bidders for Andy Warhol’s iconic “Peaches” print. The boys bought the artwork as a gift for her 1-year-old son, little Louis Bardo.

Yes... for a 1-year-old. 

The actress joked: 

“I want to thank Kevin Huvane and Bryan Lourd for not being chap f-cks and gifting my son with his first Warhol.” 

Wow, talk about client dedication. Proceeds from the auction will benefit amFAR’s AIDS research fund. Sandra was in attendance to honor the late Elizabeth Taylor, who co-created the organization in 1985.

Last night (November 1st) on the 4th floor of Barneys New York in NYC, the likes of Calvin Klein, Blake Lively, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen came out to celebrate 20 years of Christian Louboutin. 

The posh shoe designer-to-the-stars was honored for his excellence in fashion with an anniversary cocktail party at New York department store, Barneys. 

In honor of 20 years, the shoe legend released a 20th anniversary book. 

Louboutin says of the book: 

"I realized, making the book, that I had very little archives, so I had to start collecting things. I almost had nothing." 

Hats off to you, Christian. 

The book is available now at Barneys. 

Joe Jonas Is Wrapped Up In Britney Spears... Literally!

Last night (October 31st), Joe Jonas  attended a Britney Spears concert at London’s Wembley Arena and got a little more than he was probably expecting.

Yup, she does it at every show - pull a concert-goer on stage for a lil’ lovin’ - and this time around the Jo-bro was that lucky someone.
