Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding Dress Goes On Display At Buckingham Palace

Fashion, Life, News:
Bauer Griffin
The Duchess of Cambridge's wedding gown, earrings and even the cake will be on display beginning this weekend in Buckingham Palace's ballroom, the Guardian reports. Already, 125,000 people have booked tickets for the summer exhibit, and with time slots for 600,000 attendees, it could sell out altogether.

The main attraction, of course, is The Dress. Royal Collection curator Caroline de Guitaut told the Telegraph, "The dress performed perfectly. But the Duke and Duchess also maintained a modesty that gave the event the feel of a big family wedding to which the nation was invited. There was a real intimacy in addition to the spectacle. Getting to work with the bride and the designer has made the experience extra special.”

Kate Middleton’s Dress-Making Team at McQueen Thought They Were Working On A Movie Costume

News, Fashion:
Just because Kate Middleton’s wedding dress and its designer have been revealed, doesn’t mean it’s time to stop obsessing over it.

There are still so many questions! The foremost being, how in the world was the dress kept a secret?!

There have been rumors of secret meetings behind locked doors, and that the dress was created in pieces.

The latest scoop, reported by Us Weekly, says that the lace-makers were told that they were working on a dress for a British costume drama. Seamstresses at Alexander McQueen also thought that the gown was for a film (no wonder why no one blabbed). All senior staffers at McQueen were instructed to lie if asked whether Burton was the ‘chosen one.’
The fittings were held in Buckingham Palace with a small team who had signed secrecy agreements.

Surely, there are more details to come, but until then, we can always obsess over Pippa and her bum (and now maybe her boobs, too).

Anna Wintour Wears Chanel To Met Gala; Should She Be Wearing McQueen?

A press release went out announcing that Anna Wintour will be wearing a “sequin embroidered gown” from Chanel’s S/S 2011 haute couture collection to the Met Gala last night (and here she is on the red carpet, right, via @OnGlamFashion – looking incredible). If you’ve been a watcher of Met Gala fashion for a while, you know that she wears Chanel every year. We thought this year might be different.
It is, after all, a tribute to Alexander McQueen and his legacy. We’re sure tons of attendees will be paying homage to the late designer. Anna is the host of the event, and we kinda hoped she’d wear something from one of his storied collections.

But she is Anna Wintour, the singular most important person in fashion, and as such, you do as you please.

So, we were looking forward to seeing her undoubtedly lovely Chanel creation with great excitement.
