Maybe The Kardashians AREN’T Using Slave Labor...

We mentioned earlier today that the Kardashians were under fire with shocking new details regarding their sweatshop-like production operations overseas.

Now, Charles Kernaghan, executive director of the Institute of Global Labour and Human Rights - who Star Magazine quoted to back their story -  is claiming his quotes were taken out of context by the mags ballsy World Exclusive article. A story that is now causing all kinds of havoc for the K-Dash girls.

Charles says he doesn’t have any proof that the factories producing Kardashian brands K-Dash by Kardashian, the Kris Jenner Kollection
and ShoeDazzle are in fact operating under the conditions he’s quoted to have claimed in the gossip mag.

Momager Kris Jenner of course denies the allegations stating that the factories are “strictly policed.” Robert Shapiro, owner of Kim’s ShoeDazzle, also stated that his team “invested tons of time, energy and money to ensure the factories are operating in god standard.”

Well, guess only time will tell... Do it right, girls!

Under Fire: Kardashian Brands Produced In Chinese Sweatshops With ‘Virtually Imprisoned’ Labor Conditions

Uh-oh! Sounds like the Kardashian klan’s eager-beaver antics are finally catching up with them.

The ladies, KourtneyKim and Khloe Kardashian, have been praised in the past for their savy business sense, having created the mega million dollar empire known as “Kardashian” all stemming from a simple E! reality show (which of course lead to spin-off after spin-off).

From clothing lines to create-your-own shoes via the web, the Kardashians have been putting their name on anything and everything and while it seems to be serving them well, the Kardashian empire is yet again under fire with new details of the girls’ brands being crafted in foreign sweatshops with slave-like conditions.

According to Radar, the Kardashian’s lines K-Dash by Kardashian, the Kris Jenner Kollection for QVC, and ShoeDazzle (founded by Kim) are under investigation by a prestigious human-rights watchdog organization.

Apparently the ladies have been endorsing and selling products produced in foreign sweatshops where employees, some as young as 16-years-old, are paid as little as $1 per hour and work up for 84 hours per week in “slave” like conditions.

Charles Kernaghan, executive director of the institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, says “the Kardashians are in bed with some pretty bad people.” He goes all to call the region of Kardashian product production a “scary place” and the peak summers “brutal” with temperatures reaching 100˚F with no air-conditioning to keep cool.

Radar Online reports
The sweatshop workers live in squalid factory-run dormitories filled with the stench of sewage while toiling up to 84 hours during seven-day work weeks to produce some of the goods that helped Kourtney, 32, Kim, 31, Khloé, 27, mom Kris, 56, and the rest of their family earn $65 million last year.
Just AWFUL!

A rep for the Kardashians has said in response of the allegations:
“This is the first we are hearing about it and take it very seriously as we would never condone this. We are presently investigating the situation.”
Well, someone needs to! While we don’t personally think the K-Klan knew of the production conditions in China, it’s probably time they start getting a liiiittle more involved with the more vital aspects of their brands. After all, any smart business man (or woman) would cover all angels of their bread and butter, don’t you think?

Terry Richardson Gets Balls Out Naked With Male Models During Diesel Shoot

Fashion, News:
Mixing business with pleasure, ey Terry? (Guess we'd do the same with these
boys.)

Assuming Terry Richardson was on the job while at a Diesel Mexico underwear shoot yesterday, Terry and the models seem to have been doing a little more play than work. While the dashing Diesel boys flashed their branded briefs, Terry flashed a healthy patch of pubes while cupping his "goods."

According to Fashionista, there have been reports of Terry's 'inappropriate behavior' with past subjects on set where he had apparently whipped out the 'biggest dick' model Jamie Peck had ever seen.

Richardson has denied any past allegations saying that he's always 'considerate and respectful' of the people he photographs.

As much as we love Terry, we can see how his "openness" and lack of modesty can be offensive to some. We wouldn't mind though!

What do you think, inappropriate or just having fun?

Songwriter Linda Perry Slams Katy Perry: ‘Who Wants A Fucking Katy Perry Record?'

Entertainment, Music, Drama:
Oh, no she didn’t!

In a recent backstage interview at the Ford Amphitheater in LA, esteemed songwriter and former 4-Non Blondes lead singer Linda Perry more-than-happily voiced her thoughts and opinions on pop megastar Katy Perry.

The songwriter says of Katy:
“Who wants a fucking Katy Perry record? I’m sorry. You’re gonna get two songs that are probably the hits that will be good, but the rest of the record is gonna be crap.” She continues, “She’s not looking to change the world musically... so all the power to her and everybody who is like that. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m saying it’s not what I participate in music and that is the reason why the music business is in turmoil.”
Is that why, Linda?

You may be the writer behind hits for Pink, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera but... we sure haven’t seen you captivate a massive global audience like Katy-Kat OR become the second artist in history, after Michael Jackson, to have five songs from one album reach the top spot on the Billboard 100 chart. Linda goes on to call Katy’s music “microwave popcorn" and "crap.” Hmm... sounds like someone has a bit of jealousy to sort out.

Regardless of L.Perry’s comments, we know personally the ample amount of raw talent KP holds within her abilities. Weather or not she projects that in her current work is another story.

Play nice, ladies.

Lady Gaga Gives “Embarrassingly Drunk” Adam Lambert The Boot From Her Birthday Bash

They’re still new blood in terms of pop royalty, but Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert undoubtedly rule today’s modern pop scene. Both young, bold and extremely talented, the sinisters didn’t tango so well this past Sunday (March 27) at Gaga’s 25th birthday bash in downtown L.A.

Accordingly to MSN Wonderall, Lambert, 29, wasn’t even invited to the bash but attended as a guest of the Scissor Sisters, a music act opening for Gaga’s current tour.

A source tells the Morning Dish of the incident:
“Adam showed up beyond drunk”
“Super sloppy embarrassingly drunk!”
Man, the worst! Unfortunately for Adam, just being “sloppy” wasn’t all he managed to pull off.

Apparently, Lambert was fist pumping so hard that he punched a hole in the ceiling of La Cinta Bar where Gaga’s intimate surprise party was held. After that, he went on to shove dolls from Gaga’s birthday cake into her mouth which was followed by Adam attempting to upstage her impromptu performance as if he were auditioning for American Idol all over again. Adam was eventually removed from the fete by the birthday girls security detail.

Although we normally wouldn’t suggest such an act of violence but it sure sounds like someone deserves a kick in the nuts!

Easy on the booze, y’all! #UBoozeULose

Victoria Beckham Still Subject of Fashion Industry’s Sniggering; Daphne Guinness Denies Calling Beckham “an Ugly Pig"

Fashion, News:
Victoria Beckham, who just announced that she's having her first girl in July, has had an uphill climb to prove herself as a fashion designer. Although it seemed lately that she'd made it over the hump, during her Fall 2011 presentation last month — which Beckham narrated to an intimate crowd of top editors — Robin Givhan reports: "There were muffled giggles, knowing glances, and plenty of eye-rolling over the non-stop narration . . . It called to mind the manner in which Tom Ford presented his women’s collection for spring. His rolling monologue drew gushing praise from the industry. Of course, Ford’s presentation dripped in irony. And Ford is the reigning prince of charm. Beckham’s great crime, it seems, was her earnestness. She was not being ironic. She was not being self-consciously hip. And the cool girls turned on her. It wasn’t pretty."
Then, yesterday, an article in the Times UK came out, with fashion insider and heiress Daphne Guinness quoted calling Beckham "an ugly pig ... downbeat miserable and awful. Of course she's going to make money — she's backed by Simon Fuller. I don't have anyone! She annoys the sh*t out of me.”

But Guinness now denies that she made such remarks. "I would never make a comment like that about my worst enemy, let alone someone I like," she told Vogue UK. "I think Victoria is brave and fantastic for building up her business like she has. I did not make those comments. They were b*tchy and horrible and just not me.”

Guinness says the subject of Beckham arose from a discussion with the Times about financial backing: "I like to make my own things — they're probably not of any commercial worth and it's not always easy to get funding for them. I used Victoria as a reference as someone that had managed to do that. I do things a little differently. I remortgage my house and do it that way [Guinness reportedly paid $15 million in 2008 for her New York apartment]. I really admire the way she has achieved what she has. She makes beautiful clothes — they're really very beautiful.”

Guinness also took to Twitter to dispel the firestorm, explaining that she did the interview as a favor: "I am so sad stitched up by the sunday times. I thought [the writer] c. long was a friend. I would never call anyone an ugly cow, not my words . . . the journalist I knew from Issie [Blow], so i thought she would understand things, we had been friends, she has put words in my mouth." She added as further explanation: "And for the record I not only admire Victoria Beckham but know her and like her. My point was that I do most things alone without a backer.”
