Anjelica Huston - A Legendary Talent

Entertainment, Artist, Muse:

Anjelica Huston is an icon, a legend and one of the most remarkable actresses of our time. Since the late ‘60s, the California-born actress starred in dozes upon dozes of films and became the third generation of her family to win an Academy Award. An award she won for her performance in the 1985 film Prizzi’s Honor

We know her exquisite work from films like The Witches, where Huston stole the screen as Miss Eva Ernst, a.k.a. The Grand High Witch. As one of our personal favorites, her character in the 1990 film classic was mysterious, dark, and seductive - characteristics that only Anjelica Huston could so flawlessly bring to the big screen.

With a gifted ability to portray an unfathomable evil-dooer, the silver screen starlet snagged role after role and undoubtedly conquered Hollywood. Already an established movie star by the ‘90s, it was roles like Morticia Addams in The Addams Family and Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent in Ever After that brought Huston into the lives of families around the globe. They were films that won the hearts of our latest generations.

Originally born in Santa Monica, CA, Anjelica spent a majority of her childhood in Ireland and England, where she took on numerous bit parts for her father, director John Houston’s films. After her mother was killed in an unfortunate automobile accident, the then 18-year-old aspiring actress relocated to the United States where she hustled modeling gigs for several years.

From the looks of today’s Hollywood, we’d say Huston is rare breed. She’s talented, dignified and in it for what Hollywood originally came to existence for - the art of film and true talent. She’s more than mastered her craft. She’s perfected it.

These days the world of “Hollywood” revolves around talentless reality personalities and attention-seeking wannabes, for lack of a better word. People like Kate Gosslin and Kim Kardashian may have taken over television but their dim candles that shine today will never last like the torch of a true Hollywood talent.

Madam Huston, you have our heart.
