In women’s spring/summer collections of 2010, the cute pumps, flats and sandals that typically strut a spring/summer catwalk were accompanied by socks. Yeah, socks, had you heard? Designers like Christian Dior and Marni featured socks in last years spring/summer collections and it seems the socks-and-shoes combo has only just begun.
New Fashion News says of the risky trend, “It might sound a bit too uncool-for-school, but it’s a catwalk trend that has been doing a slow burn for several seasons.”
Well, that “slow burn” burnt it’s way over to Bottega Veneta’s spring/summer 2011 mens collection.
